The owner/operator of Cycle Dynamics, Ben Ward is an APA Sports Physiotherapist with over 11years experience in private practice. Whilst the practice is focused on cycling physiotherapy and bike fitting, general musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy services are available on a limited basis.
Ben is currently undertaking a full-time PhD and most of the limited clinic hours are taken up with cycling-specific services. Given this current restriction in availability, general physiotherapy services are not listed on the online booking system, however, if you would like to make an appointment please feel free to contact Ben via the contact form or call 0402 438 342. If he feels he cannot provide an appropriate level of care to meet your needs then he will refer you on to another practitioners.
Every new patient (or existing patients with a new problem) will be seen for an assessment consultation in which a patient interview and physical examination will be conducted. This appointment typically takes around 45mins for a single complaint but if you have multiple injury concerns requiring treatment then an extended initial assessment may be required . Subsequent appointments involve re-assessment to monitor progress and the implementation of the treatment plan. Depending on the nature of the problem may involve a range of treatment strategies and modalities such as manual therapy, the teaching of self-treatment techniques, taping, functional task retraining, ergonomic/postural advice, prescription of therapeutic exercises and general strength & conditioning.
All consultations are conducted on a 1-on-1 basis so you will always have your physio’s full attention.
Payment is required at the time of consultation and a HICAPS machine is available to process private health insurance rebates on the spot for private patients.
Work Cover and CTP patients are welcome, however, a gap fee will be charged to cover any discrepancy between the fee paid by the insurer and the normal private fee. The patient is responsible for the full fee until such time written confirmation of claim acceptance is received from Work Cover or the CTP insurer (plus any relevant paper work such as doctor’s certificates) to enable direct billing. Note that your private health insurance cannot be used to cover any gap fee.
Patients referred under a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan by their GP under Medicare (formerly known as the Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) scheme) will be billed at private rates at the end of the consultation and provided with a tax invoice to enable the Medicare rebate to be claimed.
DVA patients are also welcome and all fees are billed directly to the Department of Veteran’s Affairs.
